Interest in scouting in the professional realm started for Ed after his experience working at Circle 10 Council’s Flagship Summer Camp: Camp Constantin for 11 summers. In his summer camp experience, he has worked as a First Year Camper instructor, instructional swim teacher, Quartermaster, Shooting Sports Director, Assistant Ranger, and Camp Commissioner.
Ed holds a degree in Anthropology from the University of North Texas in Denton, where he met his beautiful and talented wife Kim, and where he currently resides. His other interests include, camping, playing harmonica, ridiculously spicy food, lawn-mowing, his menagerie of cats, and whirly-ball.
Of course, he is also an Eagle Scout. Earned in January 2001, his project included saving a hometown basketball court from eroding into the nearby creek. Ed also became a brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow in the same year.
Ed started in the Southern Sky district in August 2008, replacing previous district executive in this area Mike Denoy.

He started as a professional scouter, after encouragement from his local scout executive at the time. Dennis’s first district was in Ardmore, Oklahoma. His other positions have included Sr. Dist. Executive in The Woodlands, Field Director in Houston, Asst. Scout Executive in San Angelo, Director of the Learning for Life program here at good ‘ol Circle 10, and Scout Executive in San Angelo.
His favorite merit badge is Wilderness Survival, and has a standing bet that nobody can tie a one-handed bowline faster than he can.
Dennis has a passion for the scouting program, golf, and most importantly his son & daughter (who are both venture scouts).

During the past 16-years he has been actively involved in scouting as a Scoutmaster, Chartered Organization Rep, Committee Chairman, Unit Commissioner, and member of the District Staff.
