My name is Grant Laughlin and I am a registered scouter and volunteer coordinator for a new scouting program resource in the council that I want to make you aware of – DFW Radio Scouting. Recently I, along with several other scouter-hams, have started this program to offer the radio merit badge along with other ham radio related scouting programs on a council level. We are setting up ham radio stations in council area camps for the upcoming Jamboree on the Air event in October. Currently ham radio stations are operational at Camp Wisdom and at Camp James Ray. We are looking for registered scouter-hams to setup stations at Constantin and Clements / TRJ. On April 9th we held a radio merit badge class at Camp Wisdom and 22 scouts attended it, in addition we held a radio license exam and a scouter advanced from technician class to general class license status.

We would appreciate you putting the DFW Radio Scouting website link on your district website page under programs and letting your scouts and scouters know about this new program resource.
