Renewing the charter for packs, troops, crews, and ships.
A representative (Renewal Processor) of each unit can now partially complete renewing a charter online. From Internet Rechartering, you can indicate returning members, add new members, and update information for an individual or the chartered organization.
How to Use:
To renew a charter online:
- Sixty days before your unit’s expiration date, select a renewal processor.
- The renewal processor should attend the District “internet recharter training” (to be held on January 28, 2010 – 7.30pm) and have received their unit access code via mail or at the training.
- Sixty to 45 days before the unit’s expiration date, the renewal processor clicks Recharter Now (below) and begins the process.
- When the online process is completed, the renewal processor prints the completed charter renewal application.
- The unit leader and the Chartered Organization Executive Officer must sign the charter renewal application. Bring the application, New youth and Adult Registration forms and appropriate fees to your district’s turn-in meeting listed above.
If there are questions, the renewal processor can click on help or use the tutorial below. For personal assistance, please contact their Unit Commissioner first, the District Commissioner second or the District Executive third. Do not contact the Council Registrar – you will simply be referred to one of the three individuals listed above.
What’s New in 2010
Registration Fees Increase:
Any registration for traditional Scouting with an effective date after December 2009 will pay the $15 registration fee or prorated fee of $1.25 per month.
Change in Social Security Number Entry.
Due to privacy concerns, all Social Security Number (SSN) entry fields and references will be removed from Internet Rechartering and will be replaced with an informational text message: “**Social Security Number is required and will be entered by your council from the adult application.”
The council will enter SSNs for new adult leader applicants once the renewal has been submitted through Internet Rechartering, and the required paperwork has been received at the council office.
