Geocaching 101 – April 24

April 24th 2010 – 9:00am – 10:00am for the Geocaching 101 Classes
and 9:00am – 5:00pm for the CITO activities
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, Plano – Parker Road west of Midway.
The Texas Geocaching Association, Circle 10 Council BSA, and Plano Parks and Recreation proudly present an Earth Day Geocaching and CITO Event.

Plano Parks and Recreation will be offering Intro to Geocaching Classes to the public and is requesting Geocachers to volunteer to help teach the basics of GPS usage and Geocaching to families that sign up for the classes. Classes will run from 9:00-10:00am.

Circle 10 Council BSA will be encouraging Scout Packs, Troops, and Crews to participate in this CITO as part of the 100th Anniversary of Scouting Celebrations. The public and the geocaching community will witness first hand the Service that Scouts offer our communities as they help with CITO activities and logistics during the course of the day.

CITO activities will take place all day for cachers not involved with the classes, but cachers are requested to return to the class area at the end of the classes to act as Geo-Guides for the families that just learned about our sport/hobby. So make sure you have your GPS loaded with all the caches in the park, even the ones that you have already found, and be prepared to share the fun of Geocaching with these families.
Keep this cache on your watch-list for updates on times and information.
