It’s almost time for our Annual District Dinner, and that means AWARDS!   It’s that time to recognize the scouters in our district that do such a great job providing a quality program for the youth in our area, and nobody knows who does a better job for your unit than you!  That’s why you should take a minute to think about who these special folks are and nominate them, so they can be properly recognized at the upcoming district dinner.  Please check out the list of our awards below.

Please turn in all award nominations by December 15th to allow proper time for consideration.

Sparkplug Award

Each unit gets 1 sparkplug award to honor the efforts of an exceptional volunteer, deserving recognition for their hard work in providing a quality program for the youth in their unit. The Sparkplug Award can be awarded to a “Team” (i.e. Husband & Wife, etc…) Please fill out attached form and send nominations to Al & Ann Boudreaux at budo@ti.com. DOWNLOAD FORM »

District Award of Merit

The District Award of merit is the highest award the district can present to volunteers who show the uppermost degree of dedication to the scouting program. D.A.M. recipients are those volunteers who go above and beyond their unit program, and serve the entire scouting community on the district level. Silver Arrowhead

The Silver Arrowhead is also a district award bestowed upon volunteers who make a difference in the life of their youth, their unit, and have extended their service to the district level as well. Please fill out attached nomination form and send to egrune@bsamail.org. DOWNLOAD FORM »

Scouting Family Award

We are rolling out several new awards this year. The following awards are meant to profile the achievements of especially outstanding unit leaders.

• Varsity Coach of the Year
• Venture Crew Advisor of the Year
• Committee Chair of the Year
• Charter Org. Rep of the Year
• Den Leader of the Year

There is no official form to nominate someone for one of these awards, just write me a quick note with nominee info in it. Please submit nominations to egrune@bsamail.org. Be sure to include the nominees name, unit #, years of service, and why they should be considered. Including these details will help with the award consideration process.
