The Southern Sky District Spring Camporee for 2010 is being held on the 540 acre James Ray Scout Reservation, located on Lake Texoma near Pottsboro, Texas. Included in this Registration packet are copies of all the necessary forms for your use.  Please take note of critical dates of registration (last day for reduced price will be 10 April) and for special recognition (Units that register by the 1 April Roundtable will receive the Presidential Camporee ribbon).

Check-in and campsite assignments will begin at 5:00pm on Friday, 16 April.  There will be a Cracker Barrel and Leader’s Meeting for all Scoutmasters and SPL’s as well as Venture Crew Advisors and Youth Crew Leaders at 10:00pm where any last minute changes to the program schedule will be discussed.  You will want to attend the Friday evening meeting! Ken Finley, our Camporee Director, and his Staff have developed an exciting and fun Camporee program, including an Order of the Arrow Ceremony and Call-out on Saturday!

We will need the assistance of each participating Troop to help staff the Camporee events.  We are asking each Troop to volunteer at least one adult and one older youth (OA and/or Eagle) to assist with an event.  If your Unit has an idea of an event you would wish to help with, please notify Ken Finley or one of his staff as soon as possible!

After 100 years, Scouting is still as relevant today as it always was!!  Southern Sky District is determined to reinforce the strong traditions of Scouting.  Our Camporee theme; a “100 Years on the Eagle Trail” commemorates the tradition.  You will not want to miss this memorable event or pass up the time to spend with all the Units coming together for a new adventure.
