The Eagle Class of 2011 is invited to enjoy the meal & program for: only $5.00. All new 2011 Eagle Scouts present will receive special recognition for their great accomplishment.

Southern Sky District Committee Members & Interested parties:****

Our next and last Southern Sky *District Committee Meeting* was re-scheduled from *Tuesday December 6th at 7:30 PM* to next *Thursday December 8th at 7:30 PM*. This was done to accommodate the Key 3 from both new districts to attend the Circle Ten Council Annual meeting which is scheduled on December 6th to include a follow on 2012 Goal Setting meeting which requires the attendance of the Key 3 (District Executive, District Committee Chair and District Commissioner). Often times a few other key people attend as well as interested parties. The meeting will not be in the Gym so look for where all the uniforms are heading!****

Action Plans will be sent out in the next few days. Please be prepared to discuss your specific areas of activity to help wrap up this year and give some thought to what your goals might be for your new district as we prepare to start a new year, two times!****

CUBE – October 22, 2011

UPDATE: You can still come to CUBE! Early registration is closed but you are welcome to come and register and pay at the event. The price is the same: $10 per scout and $5 per sibling. There may be a small wait at check-in, and depending on attendance we may run out of patches, but all the activities and crafts will be there to enjoy.
So if you want to wait and see on the weather, or have a change of plans and can make it out early or last minute you are welcome to come out and register onsite.
Please inform your den leaders and scouts accordingly!

This is our third year for Southern Sky’s CUBE, and if last year is an example it will be a huge hit this year too! This year’s CUBE is once again a “family experience” in that elementary school aged siblings (K-5) may also participate in all the programs, with the exceptions of the Archery and BB Ranges.

What is CUBE?? It is 3-way fun for the Scouts:

The hosting of stations (Each pack is responsible for helping staff and run a station)
AND participating in the various games, crafts, and activities
AND earning electives/achievements in the Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos books!

How much?? $10/Scout; $5/elementary school aged sibling

Registration: Please register at the Billy Lyle Bobby Gamble Service Center (214-509-2100) on or before Saturday October 15th. You can also register by filling in the form below, and then take your registration payments to the Service Center by the 15th.

Unique, specially designed patches will be distributed at the event only for pre-registered scouts and siblings. This helps keep our cost down and also helps each pack plan for the activities at the stations.

Parent & Pal – Camp Wisdom – Oct 21-23,2011

October 21-23, 2011

Parent & Pal is an action-packed weekend camping experience for a Cub Scout and his Parent/Partner. This weekend of living at a real Scout camp, doing the things Boy Scouts do – shooting BB guns, archery, hiking, crafts, rock ranges, games and more! It is the perfect introductory camping program for “new” or inexperienced campers. All you have to do is show up. All meals and program are provided for you. Please bring your own tents, chairs, personal gear and camp chairs!

The cost is $60 per person – This cost covers four meals (Breakfast (Saturday and Sunday) and Lunch and Dinner on Saturday), program materials, a patch, insurance and all program items.

Cub Scouts can attend Parent & Pal as a pack, den or individual family, but it should be one-on-one with your own son (meaning parent/s – son/s) for the best camping experience.

Moms or dads or both can attend. (Other family relatives – grandparents, etc. – may attend in place of a parent.) (**Note: If there are two Scouts in your family, it is okay to attend with one parent. Also, both parents may attend with their Scout son/s.)

Note: Important: Children other than registered Cub Scouts CANNOT attend camp.

Tiger Cub Lock In – October 7-8, 2011

WHEN: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7TH, 2011 – 7:00 PM Friday – 8:00 AM Saturday

WHO: New Tiger Cub Scouts AND Partner (parent or adult guardian)

WHAT: Sleep-over with plenty of fun-filled activities, games and crafts

WHERE: First United Methodist Church, Allen (601 S. Greenville Ave., Allen TX 75002)

FOOD: SNACK will be served around 9:30pm; EAT DINNER BEFORE YOU COME. Breakfast will be available Saturday.

COST: $20.00 (Register online and pay at the service center in Fairview or the door) for Tiger Cub.-(Adult does not need to pay)

BRING: Sleeping bags, pillows and air mattresses are welcome.
LABEL your belongings. ** No tents or cots, please. **
NO CHEWING GUM!
